Meaning of life

This question is answered in the Quran, man was made to worship God.

One of the major companions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) called Abdullah ibn Abbas said we were created to know God.

If we do not worship God, our lives will be empty and that hole in our souls will not be filled by anything other than the worship of one God. All the entertainments and past times will in the end leave us feeling empty and worthless.
