New Muslim
One of my friends advised me to tell people who convert to Islam - he is himself a convert - to keep it from your parents.
Practice when they cannot see you and make slow changes like abstaining from certain foods. Then one day leave the door open and let them see you praying.
Try to keep the company of some good Muslim sisters if you can and but please stay with your family and preserve your bonds of kinship. If I can help further please contact me.
